SOI SIM ISLAND

Located in the east of Cat Ba Island, Lan Ha Bay is a tranquil bay. Located in the southwest of Ha Long Bay, about 10 km from Tuan Chau Wharf, Soi Sim Island is an attractive tourist destination thanks to its pristine natural beauty. The island is also close to other popular attractions such as Titop Island, Luon Cave, and Sung Sot Cave. On the island, there are many Sim trees – a type of shrub with purple fruit – so the locals named the island Soi Sim. At the foot of the island lies a 200-meter stretch of fine white sandy beach, which was officially recognized as a tourist beach in 2014.

Soi Sim Island covers an area of 8.7 hectares and is entirely blanketed by a primeval forest, home to many valuable and endemic plant species, typical of the Ha Long Bay ecosystem. Recently, a flora and fauna conservation area has been under development on Soi Sim Island. The highlight of this project is the central exhibition house and the viewing area designed in the shape of a nine-petal flower. In the near future, this conservation site promises to create a fresh and attractive tourism product to draw visitors, contributing to the sustainable development of the heritage area.

It is very peaceful with about 400 large and small islands and 130 small golden sandy beaches, creating a breathtaking natural landscape. The Ao Ech area is one of the tourist attractions in Lan Ha Bay, famous for its pristine and tranquil beauty. The entire area is a wild landscape formed by limestone mountains surrounding the crystal-clear water and small untouched sandy beaches.

Ao Ech is also an ideal place for water sports, especially kayaking. Exploring Lan Ha Bay by kayak will bring new experiences that cruise ships cannot provide. Passing through small islands and caves, the kayak allows you to get closer to the limestone cliffs and admire countless lively scenes of the marine world beneath the emerald waters.
